Whats our venue like?
We are a friendly mid size tidal coastal venue, facing North towards Whitstable Bay and beyond to the mouth of the Thames estuary. We are one of several sailing clubs at various villages and towns along the length of the North Kent coast. We have a large Cat fleet and over the last 7 to 8 years have been building a strong Dart 15 fleet. Other local clubs have strong cat fleets and we hope to have in the region of 10 to 15 local sailors entering the event. We dont have a car park, but free parking is available along Marine Parade. Our clubhouse is situated just below Marine Parade, with a shingle beach below. Boats are stored along the beach and the prom bank and we have a wooden slipway, but generally most boats launch directly from the beach. Whilst we face North, the area is famous for its sunsets and we like nothing better than having a cold one on the balcony after sailing watching the sunset and talking sailing.
